The Registration Process
Once you we file your completed trademark application,
the Trademark Office will respond in about six month. The first office action will
set the tone for the continued process. Your application may be granted, granted pending
some minor change, rejected in part or rejected in whole. There could be a single
reason or multiple reason for rejection. Please see registration refusal for more information
on why an application may be rejected. If your application is rejected, you generally have six
(6) months to reply to the examining attorney's rejection. If your application is rejected, we
are here to help you navigate through the difficult and complex reply process.
If your trademark application is granted, it will be published in the Official Gazette.
Once it is published in the Official Gazette, third-parties are given thirty (30) days from the date of
publication to object to the mark. If no parties object, the application will then receive a notice of
allowance or a certificate of registration, depending upon the type of use under which you filed your application.
If someone objects to your application, you should contact us or any competent trademark attorney for instructions
on how to proceed.
